Tom Weber Memorial Scholarship

The WSSC sponsors this scholarship for any High School senior who is the son, daughter, or grandchild of an active member of WSSC, and successfully submits the minimum requirements for considerations by the WSSC Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is awarded annually in July.

This scholarship is made of 5 parts, as follows:

Part 1: THE APPLICATION FORM
Part 2: COUNSELOR’S REPORT FORM (to be completed by the student’s counselor)
Part 3: TEACHER’S REFERENCE ON COLLEGE POTENTIAL (to be completed by the applicant’s choice of teacher)
Part 4: TWO CHARACTER REPORTS OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM
Part 5: APPLICANT’S SCHOOL PHOTO plus “WHY I DESIRE THIS SCHOLARSHIP”

Scholarship applications are handed out January 1, and must be received by May 1.
Contact Mick Gottman for a Scholarship packet.
Once the application has been completed, bring this packet to the WSSC and present it to one of the Scholarship Committee Members, or place it in the Business Office Drop Box.

Here are some highlights from the plaque honoring Tom, hanging on the wall by the list of Scholarship winners, in the Clubhouse.
Tom loved being at the rifle range or helping at the shoots. There wasn’t anyone that could make you laugh till your sides hurt like Tom. Tom loved to be outdoors doing anything that had to do with nature, with his friends, or his son. Tom would want us all to remember him as he was, always in his funny orange hat. A face full of life, a smile big and bright, enjoying what he loved, what could be better than that.
